Ok im new to dirt bikes.. I have a honda 400ex at the moment. And I am looking into getting a dirt bike. I do trail riding (bush) I do lots of dirt road riding some road riding and enough loging road riding and hydro riding lmao. WEW!
Lets get 2 the point I found this 2002 SUZUKI RM 250 in the auto trader and I was wondering if its a good deal.. I was looking at other bikes just on google.. And I see the same bike with roughtly the same mods.. But all of them have diffrent prices its all over the chart. Some what confusing.
Here it is plz tell me what you think:
"Excellent Condition, very fast. no time to ride, must sell. Works connection, bills pipe silencer, hinson, tag bars & triple clamp, pivot works bearings, bottom & top end rebuilt, v-force, sfb covers, gripper seat, plus stock parts, comes with like new helmet, goggles, gloves, pants, boots, chest protector. Ready to ride!"
He wanted 3200. Then I talked 2 him on msn for a while told him what my price range was.. I said 2000ish.. And now im almost 100% sure he will lower his price.
So what do you guys say? And what are some things I should look for and ask for when I talk to him.
ty verry much. just for reading all this lol :-s

Since this was posted awhile ago you probably already aren't looking for the answer anymore but Ill give you a couple tips so people who have the same question can search the forum and mabey this will help them out.
When ever I buy something new and want to figure out what its worth I do alot of searching and find out what people are asking for there bikes and how much they actually are selling them for. You have to figure most people ask at least a couple hundred more than what they are willing to take. I usually search craigslist, forum classifides, ebay, swapsheets, and the local papers. There are sites that will tell you what its worth like nada.com or kbb.com but I have found that those are not always even close to what the actually asking or selling price is. Do alot of searching and see what people are asking, then subtract a few hundred and make an offer.
Also try not to jump right into buying something. Its very easy to fall in love with something and not really pay attention to what your buying. Make sure you check the bike out thoroughly and do some research of commen problems and read rider reviews and talk to people that have the bike and see what they think about it. It may take you a little longer to find something but in the long run its worth it.
